Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress, and songwriter for many years. Sara Ramirez was brought up by her American mother and encountered a number of racial slurs, which made her feel unwelcome. When she attended a 9th grade school audition, where she received praises for her voice as she built confidence. This not only increased her confidence but her ambitions were changed. The 22-year-old graduated with a degree from Julliard School in New York. When she was 23, her first Broadway show with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut film, You've Got Mail, were her biggest break. Her most memorable break came from her role as The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the original Broadway version of Spamalot. She was awarded the Tony Award and received great praise for the role. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC her role was given greater appreciation. Alongside having a cult following as a singer, she has released two solo albums as well as an extended version. She also works as a LGBT activist.
